When a Patient Dies, It’s a Different Story
When pilots or medical personnel go down in an air ambulance crash, there is little legal recourse. Workmens' compensation precludes them or their families from suing their employer. Unless they can prove the accident was a due to a defect in the aircraft, there is no way for them to sue for compensation.

LifeCare chief warns against using Fire Department as ambulance service - Ohio
The letter, written by Peter de la Porte, is in response to an upcoming vote of City Council to allow the Fire Department to apply for and accept, if awarded, a $134,000 grant to purchase four 12-lead heart monitors. The monitors, said Fire Chief Rich Benton, will allow the Fire Department to offer better pre-hospital care to cardiac patients in the field.
